What is the tax summary for?
Every year, if you have sold securities, you must report your gains and losses to the tax authorities. The calculation is tedious: you have to find the purchase price of every security sold, add the fees, and apply your country's rules.
The tax summary does that calculation for you, from the purchases and sales you have recorded in Earnnest. It shows, country by country, the amount of your gains, the amount of your losses, and what remains taxable.
It is a filing aid: Earnnest calculates, you check, and you are the one who enters the amounts in your tax return. Earnnest fills in no official form and sends nothing to any tax authority on your behalf.
